The difference between a wine-ageing cellar and a wine storage cellar
Let’s take a closer look!
Wine cellar: 3 possible uses
First, know that there are several ways to use a wine cellar. It can be used to store bottles, but also to age wine or prepare wine before serving it. Depending on the use, the storing conditions can change.
With a UV treated door and a temperature zone adjustable between 5 and 20°C, the SCCVI60462 wine cellar is
Wine storage cellar
Actually, the main difference between a wine-ageing cellar and a wine storage cellar is the bottles storage time. Conversely, to store or age wine, the same storing conditions must be met. This includes a temperature from 10 to 14°C, humidity levels above 50%, absence of UV rays, a good circulation of air and stable bottles.
Compared to a wine-ageing or storage cellar, a service cellar has another goal: keeping the bottles at the right temperature before you serve the wine. All wines are not to be savoured at the same temperature, so you should choose a multi-temperature cellar such as the SCCV62DB. For this type of cellar, note that protection from the sun is not always necessary.
