Deauville Film Festival 2019: the best of American cinema
The 45th Deauville Film Festival that starts on September 6, 2019 will unveil the cream of American cinema. A total of sixty films will be released including “A Rainy Day in New York” by Woody Allen or “Port Authority” by Danielle Lossovitz. In this edition, the women will be in the spotlight. Sophie Turner will be awarded with the Nouvel Hollywood Prize. Sienna Miller, Kristen Stewart and Geena Davis will receive the Deauville Talent Award.
Deauville: a beautiful sample of American cinema
This edition of the 2019 Deauville Film Festival will once again focus on American films. This industry is very prolific with 576 films directed in the United States in 2018. Among these, there are Marvel films such as “Avengers 3”, “Venom” or “Spider-Man”. And simultaneously, we may also name “Green Book”, “A Star Is Born” or “Ready Player One”.

Getting back to 2019 and the Deauville Film Festival, the programme promises to be captivating. The opening film by Woody Allen, “A Rainy Day in New York” sets the tone. Then “The Climb”, directed by Michael Angelo Covina will certainly be worth the trip. As a reminder, this director has already received the jury’s Coup de Coeur Prize in the last Cannes Film Festival. Other films might draw your attention: “Les Misérables” by Ladj Ly, “Skin” by Guy Nattiv or “The Lighthouse” by Robert Eggers.
